Hi Guys! We moved our blog cause this one keeps acting funny and won't let me upload some things, so we decided to make a new one that includes both of us! www.monicaandderek.blogspot.com
If you haven't heard the story about how Paige and I met, you need to hear it. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. My parents met a lot of their good friends in a ward we were in when I was a baby. They met this couple in Ohio named Julie and Danny Conley. Julie was pregnant with their first baby (Paige), while my mom was pregnant with their third girl (me!). My parents really liked the Conleys and became pretty good friends with them, even after Paige and I were born. Eventually my family moved away and the Conleys became, to me, just another family we got Christmas cards from. I grew up and was getting ready to go to college at BYU-Idaho when my mom mentioned something about a girl who I didn't know going to the same college as me. When I got up to school in Idaho with my family, we started moving things into my dorm and my dad decided he wanted to go find out where Paige was living. Turns out, Paige was randomly put as my roommate. In the first five minutes, we were best friends. Looking back at that situation, I know my Heavenly Father made Paige my roommate for a reason. I'm not sure if maybe I wouldn't been able to handle being away or the stresses of my freshman year of college, but I know Heavenly Father brought our families back together for a reason. I know he gave me a best friend for a purpose. I'm so glad he did.
Now Paige and I have been best friends for almost four years now and we know each other like the back of our hands. It's hard cause I'm married and living in Arizona, and Paige just got her mission call to Concepcion, Chile. I'm so grateful to be able to help her in this experience and encourage her in her mission. I was able to visit Texas last month and see her before she leaves Oct. 28th. I love her so much and she is going to be a great missionary!

If you haven't ate here, you should. It's a small breakfast diner in downtown Phoenix. They have the best waffles I have ever tried. Everything is good there and you'll never be dissapointed. I did this for a school project where I had to document a location. Everything they use is from the farmers market so it is all locally grown and organic. I am a big fan and Derek and I recommend this place to anyone in Arizona. It was voted the best breakfast joint in America by Gourmet magazine and also was in the Food Network show, Diners, Drive Thru's and Dives.

The TV cord, I mean. We didn't really cut the cord, but we did shut are TV off. Why? Because we don't really NEED it, and it got expensive. So.. we're living TV less. Last night was the first night without it and Derek complained about being bored the whole night! (It was Derek's bright idea to shut it off in the first place.) I on the other hand, truly enjoyed not falling asleep to some stupid show, though I protested at first. We'll see how long this lasts.
